Guest Room 2: Upon entering this warm and lofty King Junior Suite, the eye is drawn to the distinctive, contemporary, king-size bed and its festive hand-woven fabrics, which capture the best of Guatemalan traditional design. Orange, rust, brown and blue predominate in this room, and its wood-beamed ceiling echoes the handsome design and coloring of the French doors and wood-shuttered windows, which stretch nearly to the floor. The corner fireplace with its comfortable chaise-longue marks the spot for late-night relaxation before bed or a post-breakfast mapping out of the day's tour of Antigua. The sky lit bathroom is divided into two spaces: the first, a granite-topped, drawer-filled vanity area contains a full size closet; the second, a travertine-walled chamber with toilet and large walk-in shower. Wood pilasters and wood cross bar, recycled from the heyday of the previous residence, lend contrasting texture.
